✧ Ibn Umar entered upon Yahya b. Said, while a boy from his sons had tied a chicken and was throwing at it. He went to the chicken and untied it, then brought it with the boy and said to Yahya: Restrain this boy of yours from making this bird suffer for killing, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding that an animal or anything else be made to suffer for killing. If you want to slaughter it, then slaughter it.
