✧ A bedouin passed by him while they were on the road for Hajj. Ibn Umar said to him: 'Are you not so-and-so, son of so-and-so?' He said: 'Yes.' So he went to a donkey he used to rest on when he tired of his riding camel, and a turban he used to tie around his head, and gave them to the bedouin. When he had gone, one of us said to him: 'You went to your donkey that you used to rest on and your turban that you used to tie around your head, and gave them to this bedouin, though he would have been satisfied with a dirham.' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: The most righteous of righteousness is a man's maintaining ties with the beloved friends of his father after his father's departure.'
