حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ سَمِعْتُ حَنْظَلَةَ سَمِعْتُ سَالِمًا يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ - أَوْ قَالَ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُشِيرُ إِلَى الْمَشْرِقِ - يَقُولُ: هَا، إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا، هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا، هَا إِنَّ الْفِتْنَةَ هَاهُنَا، مِنْ حَيْثُ يُطْلِعُ الشَّيْطَانُ قَرْنَيْهِ.

Translation

✧ I heard Abdullah ibn Umar say, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointing towards the east, or he said, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is pointing towards the east,' and saying, 'Here, indeed, is the Fitnah (trial and tribulation). Here, indeed, is the Fitnah. Here, indeed, is the Fitnah from where the horn of Satan will rise.'"
