حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ عَنْ هَمَّامٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَرَادَتْ أَنْ تَشْتَرِيَ بَرِيرَةَ فَأَبَى أَهْلُهَا أَنْ يَبِيعُوهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ لَهُمْ وَلَاؤُهَا، فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ عَائِشَةُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: اشْتَرِيهَا فَأَعْتِقِيهَا فَإِنَّمَا الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْطَى الثَّمَنَ.

✧ Aisha wanted to buy Barirah, but her owners refused to sell her unless the wala' would be theirs. Aisha mentioned that to the Prophet ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Buy her and set her free, for the wala' belongs to the one who pays the price."
