✧ I was standing praying toward the House, and an old man was beside me. I prolonged the prayer, so I put my hands on my waist. The old man struck my chest with his hand, a blow that he did not spare. I said to myself: What did he find objectionable about me? So I hastened to finish, and there was a boy sitting behind him. I said: Who is this old man? He said: This is Abdullah b. Umar. I sat until he finished, then I said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what did you find objectionable about me? He said: Is it you? I said: Yes. He said: That was the "salib" in prayer, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to forbid it.
