حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَصَلَّيْنَا الْفَرِيضَةَ فَرَأَى بَعْضَ وَلَدِهِ يَتَطَوَّعُ فَقَالَ
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَصَلَّيْنَا الْفَرِيضَةَ فَرَأَى بَعْضَ وَلَدِهِ يَتَطَوَّعُ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ [رَسُولِ اللهِ] ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَعُثْمَانَ فِي السَّفَرِ فَلَمْ يُصَلُّوا قَبْلَهَا وَلَا بَعْدَهَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: وَلَوْ تَطَوَّعْتُ لَأَتْمَمْتُ
Translation

✧ We went out with Ibn Umar and prayed the obligatory prayer. He saw one of his sons performing voluntary prayers, so Ibn Umar said: 'I prayed with the Messenger of God ﷺ, Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman while traveling, and they did not pray before it or after it.' Ibn Umar said: 'If I were to pray voluntary prayers, I would have completed the prayer.'
