✧ I was with Sulayman b. Ali when a shaykh from Quraysh entered. Sulayman said: Look after the old man and seat him in a good place, for Quraysh have a right. I said: O amir, shall I not relate to you a hadith that reached me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, do. He said: I said to him: It reached me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever humiliates Quraysh, Allah will humiliate him. He said: Glory be to Allah! How excellent this is! Who narrated this to you? He said: I said: Rabi'a b. Abi 'Abd al-Rahman narrated it to me, from Sa'id b. al-Musayyib, from 'Amr b. Uthman b. al-Affan, who said: My father said to me: O my son, if you are given authority over any of the people's affairs, honor Quraysh, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Whoever humiliates Quraysh, Allah will humiliate him.
