حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ. وَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ مَرَّةً: وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ وَأَكْثَرُ مَا كَانَ يَقُولُ: وَبَعْدَ مَا يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ، وَلَا يَرْفَعُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ

Translation

✧ I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ, when he began the prayer, raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders, and when he intended to bow, and after he raised his head from bowing. Sufyan once said: “And when he raised his head”—and most of what he said was: “and after he raised his head from bowing”—“and he did not raise them between the two prostrations.”
