حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ سَعِيدُ بْنُ خُثَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كَانَ أَبِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا أَتَى الرَّجُلَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ السَّفَرَ قَالَ لَهُ: ادْنُ حَتَّى أُوَدِّعَكَ كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوَدِّعُنَا، فَيَقُولُ: أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ دِينَكَ وَأَمَانَتَكَ وَخَوَاتِيمَ عَمَلِكَ.

✧ When my father, Abdullah b. Umar, came to a man who intended to travel, he would say to him: "Come close so I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to bid us farewell," and he would say: "I entrust to Allah your religion, your trust, and the final deeds of your life."
