حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ

مَنْ حَلَفَ فَاسْتَثْنَى فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ إِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَمْضِيَ عَلَى يَمِينِهِ مَضَى، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ غَيْرَ حَنِثٍ أَوْ قَالَ: " غَيْرَ حَرِجٍ.

✧ Whoever takes an oath and then makes an exception is at liberty: if he wishes to carry out his oath, he may do so, and if he wishes to go back on it without breaking it—or he said: without sin.
