حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي عَاشُورَاءَ: صَامَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَمَرَ بِصَوْمِهِ، فَلَمَّا فُرِضَ رَمَضَانُ تُرِكَ. فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ لَا يَصُومُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْتِيَ عَلَى صَوْمِهِ.

✧ He said regarding Ashura: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted it and commanded its fasting, but when Ramadan was made obligatory, it was left.' Abdullah would not fast it unless it coincided with his fasting.
