  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationHe was also asked about the hadith of Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. He said: Dāwūd b. Rashīd narrated it from Abū Ḥafṣ al-Abbār, from Manṣūr, from Abū Wāʾil, from ʿAbdullāh. This is an error; the correct version is from Manṣūr, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationHe was asked about the hadith of ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh, from the Prophet ﷺ: "May Allah curse the women who tattoo." He said: Al-Aʿmash and Manṣūr narrate it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Jarīr b. Ḥāzim narrated it from al-Aʿmash with a connected chain, and Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad b. al-Faḍl al-Rāsibī corroborated him, from al-Firyābī, from al-Thawrī, from al-Aʿmash. Others narrate it from al-Aʿmash, from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAbdullāh. As for Manṣūr, there is no disagreement about him: he narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from ʿAlqamah, from ʿAbdullāh. Ibrāhīm b. Muhājir differed from him and narrated it from Ibrāhīm, from Umm Yaʿqūb al-Asadiyyah, from ʿAbdullāh. The correct version is what Manṣūr said.
