✧ Abdullah b. Mas'ud came to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari in his home, and the time for prayer arrived. Abu Musa said: 'Go forward, O Abu 'Abd al-Rahman, for you are older in age and more learned.' He said: 'No, rather you go forward, for we have only come to you in your home and your mosque, so you are more entitled.' He said: So Abu Musa went forward and removed his sandals. When he had said the salam, he said: 'What did you intend by removing them? Are you in the sacred valley? I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in leather socks and sandals.'
