✧ I came to Abdullah b. Masud and found him on a roof of his (meaning a flat rooftop), and I heard him saying: “God and His Messenger have spoken the truth, God and His Messenger have spoken the truth!” I climbed up to him and said: “O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what is the matter? You said: ‘God and His Messenger have spoken the truth, God and His Messenger have spoken the truth!’” He said: “The Messenger of God ﷺ informed us that the Night of Decree is in the middle of the last seven nights, and that the sun rises on its morning without rays.” He said: “So I climbed up and looked at it, and I said: ‘God and His Messenger have spoken the truth, God and His Messenger have spoken the truth.’”
