✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw that Quraysh had become obstinate against him, he said, 'O Allah, help me against them with seven (years of famine) like the seven of Yusuf ﷺ.' He said: Then the drought seized them until it destroyed everything, until they ate hides and bones. (One of the two said: until they ate hides and carrion, and a man would see something like smoke rising from him.) Abu Sufyan came to him and said, 'O Muhammad, your people have perished, so call upon Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to remove it from them.' He said: So he supplicated. Then he said, 'O Allah, if they return, then return (to punishing them).' (This is in the hadith of Mansur.) Then he recited this verse: 'So watch for the day when the sky will bring a visible smoke.'
