حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
صَلَّيْتُ أَوْ قُمْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ قَائِمًا حَتَّى هَمَمْتُ بِأَمْرِ سَوْءٍ. قَالَ: قُلْنَا: مَا هَمَمْتَ؟ قَالَ: هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ وَأَدَعَهُ.

✧ I prayed or stood with the Prophet ﷺ one night, and he kept standing until I thought of doing something bad. He said: We said: What did you think of? He said: I thought of sitting down and leaving him.
