✧ I was sitting with Abdullah when a thief was brought, and he ordered his hand to be cut off. It was as if the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had been sprinkled with ashes. He said: They said: O Messenger of Allah, it is as though you disliked cutting off his hand! He said: What prevents me? Do not be helpers of Satan against your brother. It is proper for the ruler, when a prescribed punishment reaches him, to carry it out. Indeed, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, is Forgiving and loves forgiveness. And let them pardon and overlook. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you? And Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
