✧ We were sitting on Friday evening in the mosque. He said: A man from the Ansar said: 'One of us, if he sees a man with his wife and kills him, you kill him; if he speaks, you flog him; and if he remains silent, he remains silent with rage. By Allah, if I reach the morning in good health, I will ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' He said: So he asked him. He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if one of us sees a man with his wife and kills him, you kill him; if he speaks, you flog him; and if he remains silent, he remains silent with rage. O Allah, judge!' He said: So the verse of li'an was revealed. He said: That man was the first to be tried with it.
