✧ A man came to Abu Musa and Salman b. Rabi'a and asked them about a daughter, a son's daughter, and a full sister. They said: "To the daughter is half, and to the sister is half. Go to Ibn Mas'ud, for he will agree with us." He went to Ibn Mas'ud, asked him, and told him what they had said. Ibn Mas'ud said: "Then I would have gone astray and would not be among the rightly guided! I will judge as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judged: to the daughter is half, to the son's daughter is one-sixth to complete two-thirds, and what remains is to the sister."
