✧ An amir from among the amirs sent me to Ibn Abbas to ask him about the prayer in the rain-seeking. Ibn Abbas said: What prevented him from asking me? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out humble, in worn clothes, submissive, unhurried, supplicating, and prayed two rak'ahs as he prays in the Eid, and he did not deliver a sermon like these sermons of yours.

machine translation[The question of whether] the sermon was before the two rakʿahs or after them—he said: "I do not know." This indicates that Hishām did not memorize it.
