✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the end of the night and prayed behind him. He took my hand and pulled me, making me stand alongside him. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to his prayer, I stepped back. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed, and when he finished he said to me: 'What is the matter with me that I make you stand alongside me, and you step back?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, is it proper for anyone to pray alongside you when you are the Messenger of Allah whom Allah has given?' He said: 'He was pleased with me, and he supplicated Allah for me to increase me in knowledge and understanding.' Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sleep until I heard him snoring. Then Bilal came to him and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the prayer.' He stood and prayed without renewing his ablution.
