حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ سِقَاءٍ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّهُ مَيْتَةٌ، فَقَالَ: دِبَاغُهُ يُذْهِبُ خَبَثَهُ، أَوْ رِجْسَهُ، أَوْ نَجَسَهُ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ intended to perform ablution from a water skin, and it was said to him: 'It is from a dead animal.' He said: 'Its tanning removes its impurity,' or 'its filth,' or 'its uncleanness.'
