✧ The chiefs of Quraysh gathered in the Hijr and swore by al-Lat, al-Uzza, Manat the third other, Nailah, and Isaf: If we see Muhammad, we will rise against him as one man and not leave him until we kill him. Then his daughter Fatimah came weeping until she entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: These chiefs of Quraysh have sworn against you that if they see you, they will rise against you and kill you. There is not a man among them but knows his share of your blood. He said: O my little daughter, bring me water for ablution. He performed ablution, then entered the mosque upon them. When they saw him, they said: Here he is. They lowered their eyes, their chins fell to their chests, and they were rooted to their seats. None of them raised his eyes to him, and none of them stood against him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached until he stood over their heads, took a handful of dust and said: May the faces be ugly. Then he threw it at them. No man among them was hit by any of those pebbles but he was killed at the Battle of Badr as a disbeliever.
