حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتِ يَزِيدَ قَالَتْ
مَنِ ارْتَبَطَ فَرَسًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ، وَأَنْفَقَ عَلَيْهِ احْتِسَابًا كَانَ شِبَعُهُ وَجُوعُهُ، وَرِيُّهُ وَظَمَؤُهُ، وَبَوْلُهُ وَرَوْثُهُ فِي مِيزَانِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَمَنِ ارْتَبَطَ فَرَسًا رِيَاءً وَسُمْعَةً، كَانَ ذَلِكَ خُسْرَانًا فِي مِيزَانِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Translation

✧ Whoever keeps a horse in the way of Allah and spends on it seeking reward, its satiety and hunger, its drinking and thirst, its urine and dung will be in his balance on the Day of Resurrection. And whoever keeps a horse for show and reputation, that will be a loss in his balance on the Day of Resurrection.
