حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنِي بُكَيْرُ بْنُ أَبِي السُّمَيْطِ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْغَطَفَانِيِّ عَنْ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ الْيَعْمُرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ

أَيَعْجِزُ أَحَدُكُمْ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ ؟ قَالُوا: [نَعَمْ] يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، نَحْنُ أَضْعَفُ مِنْ ذَاكَ وَأَعْجَزُ، قَالَ: فَإِنَّ اللهَ جَزَّأَ الْقُرْآنَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَجْزَاءٍ، فَـ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ جُزْءٌ مِنْ أَجْزَائِهِ.

✧ Is any of you unable to recite one third of the Qur'an every day?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of God, we are weaker and more incapable than that.' He said: 'God has divided the Qur'an into three parts, and "Say: He is God, the One" is one part of its parts.'
