✧ I rode with Abu Basrah from Fustat to Alexandria in a ship. When we pushed off from our anchorage, he ordered his provisions and they were brought near, then he invited me to eat, and that was in Ramadan. I said: 'O Abu Basrah, by Allah, our houses have not yet disappeared from our sight.' He said: 'Do you turn away from the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'Then eat.' So we continued breaking our fast until we reached our destination.
