حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْفَائِشِيِّ عَنِ ابْنَةٍ لِخَبَّابٍ قَالَتْ
خَرَجَ خَبَّابٌ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ، فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَعَاهَدُنَا حَتَّى كَانَ يَحْلُبُ عَنْزًا لَنَا [فِي جَفْنَةٍ لَنَا]. قَالَتْ: فَكَانَ يَحْلُبُهَا حَتَّى يَطْفَحَ ( أَوْ يَفِيضَ )، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ خَبَّابٌ حَلَبَهَا فَرَجَعَ حِلَابُهَا إِلَى مَا كَانَ. فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَحْلُبُهَا حَتَّى يَفِيضَ -وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: حَتَّى تَمْتَلِئَ -، فَلَمَّا حَلَبْتَهَا رَجَعَ حِلَابُهَا.

✧ Khabbab went out on a military expedition, and the Prophet ﷺ used to look after us, to the point that he would milk a she-goat of ours [into a bowl of ours]. She said: He would milk it until it overflowed (or was full). When Khabbab returned, he milked it and its milk went back to what it had been. We said to him: “The Messenger of God ﷺ used to milk it until it overflowed”—and once he said: “until it was full”—“but when you milked it, its milk returned to what it was.”
