✧ We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to visit him among women, and there was a water-skin hanging near him, its water dripping onto him from the severity of the fever's heat he was experiencing. We said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if only you would supplicate to Allah and He would heal you.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, among the people most severely tried are the prophets, then those next to them, then those next to them, then those next to them.'

machine translationIt is narrated by Ḥuṣayn b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, and there is disagreement about it from him. Sulaymān b. Kathīr, Shuʿbah, Zāʾidah, ʿAbthar, Fuḍayl and Jarīr narrated it from Ḥuṣayn, from Abū ʿUbaydah b. Ḥudhayfah, from his paternal aunt. Yūsuf al-Qaṭṭān said: my grandfather narrated to us once, from Ḥuṣayn, from Khaythamah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, from Ibn Ḥudhayfah, from an aunt of his. The first is more correct (aṣaḥḥ).
