حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ وَرْدَانَ عَنْ عُبَيْدٍ الْأَعْرَجِ قَالَ حَدَّثَتْنِي جَدَّتِي

أَنَّهَا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَتَغَدَّى وَذَلِكَ يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ، فَقَالَ: تَعَالَيْ، فَكُلِي. فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي صَائِمَةٌ. فَقَالَ لَهَا: صُمْتِ أَمْسِ ؟ فَقَالَتْ: لَا. قَالَ: "فَكُلِي؛ فَإِنَّ صِيَامَ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ لَا لَكِ وَلَا عَلَيْكِ

Translation

✧ She entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was having lunch, and that was on a Saturday. He said: 'Come and eat.' She said: 'I am fasting.' He said to her: 'Did you fast yesterday?' She said: 'No.' He said: 'Then eat, for fasting on Saturday is neither for you nor against you.'
