What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • Ibn Ḥajar al-ʿAsqalānī

machine translationThe hadith is sound (ṣaḥīḥ), there is no doubt about it.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 27623
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationThe companions of Mālik differed from him and traced it back (musnad) from ʿĀʾishah, from Judāmah bint Wahb, from the Prophet ﷺ, and that is the correct version.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 27623
  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAbū al-Aswad Muḥammad b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Nawfal narrates it, and Mālik b. Anas transmitted it from him, and there is disagreement about what was reported from Mālik. Abū ʿĀmir al-ʿAqadī narrated it from Mālik, from Abū al-Aswad, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah, and likewise it was said from al-Qaʿnabī. But the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) version from Mālik is: from Abū al-Aswad, from ʿUrwah, from ʿĀʾishah, from Judāmah, from the Prophet ﷺ. Likewise Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb and Saʿīd b. Abī Ayyūb narrated it from Abū al-Aswad, and that is the correct version.

    in مسند أحمد, p. 27623
