machine translationHishām b. ʿUrwah narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Al-Thawrī, Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr and ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar narrated it from Hishām, from his father, from ʿĀʾishah, that Asmāʾ said: "O Messenger of Allah." They were contradicted by Ḥammād b. Salamah, al-Ḍaḥḥāk b. ʿUthmān, Ibn Jurayj, ʿAlī b. Mushir and a group including Ḥātim b. Ismāʿīl, Anas b. ʿIyāḍ, Ibn Numayr, Maʿmar, Zayd b. Abī Unaysah, ʿAbdah, al-Layth, Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān, Abū Usāmah and Mālik b. Suʿayr, who narrated it from Hishām, from his father, from Asmāʾ. There is also disagreement about Ibn ʿUyaynah: ʿAbd al-Jabbār b. al-ʿAlāʾ, ʿAlī b. Shuʿayb, ʿAlī b. Ḥarb and Saʿdān b. Naṣr narrated it from Ibn ʿUyaynah, from Hishām, from Fāṭimah bint al-Mundhir, from her grandmother Asmāʾ. They were contradicted by al-Ḥumaydī and a group of Ibn ʿUyaynah's students, who said: from Ibn ʿUyaynah, from Hishām, from his father, from Asmāʾ, and this is the correct one. Abū al-Zinād narrated it from ʿUrwah, from Asmāʾ. And al-Musayyab b. Wāḍiḥ said: from Ibn ʿUyaynah, from ʿUthmān b. ʿUrwah, from his father, from Asmāʾ.
