✧ While she was sitting with Maymunah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, Ibn Abbas entered upon her. She said: 'Why is your hair disheveled?' He said: 'Umm Ammar, my hairdresser, is menstruating.' She said: 'My dear son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand? The Prophet ﷺ used to enter upon one of us while she was reclining and menstruating, and he knew she was menstruating, and he would recline upon her and recite the Quran while reclining upon her — or he would enter upon her while she was sitting and menstruating, and he would recline in her lap and recite the Quran in her lap — and she would get up while menstruating and spread the mat for him in his prayer place.' Ibn Bakr said: 'His mat.' 'And he would pray on it in my house. My dear son, what does menstruation have to do with the hand?'
