✧ Maymunah bt. al-Harith sent me to the wife of 'Abdullah b. 'Abbas, and there was kinship between them. I saw her bed set apart from his bed, and I thought that was because of separation. I asked her, and she said, 'No, but I am menstruating. When I menstruate, he does not come near my bed.' I went to Maymunah and mentioned that to her, and she sent me back to Ibn 'Abbas, saying, 'Is it aversion to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would sleep with a menstruating woman from his wives, and there was nothing between them except a garment that did not go beyond the knees.'
