✧ He used to test those of the believing women who emigrated to him with this verse, by the words of Allah, Exalted is He: 'O Prophet, when believing women come to you to pledge allegiance to you that they will not associate anything with Allah, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor bring a slander they fabricate between their hands and feet, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their pledge and ask Allah to forgive them. Indeed Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.' 'Urwah b. al-Zubayr said: 'A'ishah said: 'Whoever of the believing women acknowledged this condition, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her: "I have pledged allegiance to you" in words. And by Allah, his hand never touched the hand of any woman in the pledge. He did not pledge allegiance to them except by saying: "I have pledged allegiance to you on that."'
