حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَائِلٌ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْبَهِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

مَا بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ فِي جَيْشٍ قَطُّ، إِلَّا أَمَّرَهُ عَلَيْهِمْ. وَإِنْ بَقِيَ بَعْدَهُ اسْتَخْلَفَهُ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not send Zaid bin Harithah in any army except that he appointed him as their leader, and if he remained behind, he would appoint him as his deputy.
