حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
لَقَدْ كَانَ يَأْتِي عَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ الشَّهْرُ مَا يُرَى فِي بَيْتٍ مِنْ بُيُوتِهِ الدُّخَانُ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّهْ، فَمَا كَانَ طَعَامُهُمْ ؟ قَالَتِ: الْأَسْوَدَانِ الْمَاءُ وَالتَّمْرُ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ لَهُ جِيرَانُ صِدْقٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، وَكَانَتْ لَهُمْ رَبَائِبُ، فَكَانُوا يَبْعَثُونَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ أَلْبَانِهَا
Translation

✧ A month would pass for the family of Muhammad ﷺ without smoke being seen in any of their houses. He (the narrator) said: I said: "O mother, what was their food?" She said: "The two black things: water and dates. However, he had truthful neighbors among the Anṣār, and they had milk-bearing animals, and they would send him some of their milk."
