✧ I said to Aishah, the Mother of the Believers, 'At which hour do you perform witr?' She said, 'I do not perform witr until they call the adhan, and they do not call the adhan until dawn breaks.' She said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had two muezzins, Bilal and Amr b. Umm Maktum. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When Amr calls the adhan, eat and drink, for he is a blind man. And when Bilal calls the adhan, raise your hands, for Bilal does not call the adhan"—thus he said—"until it becomes morning."'
