✧ He asked Ibn Umar about a man who applies perfume when entering ihram, and Ibn Umar said, “To smear myself with tar would be dearer to me than doing that.” He said: Then my father asked Aishah and told her what Ibn Umar had said, and she said, “May Allah have mercy on Abu Abd al-Rahman. I used to perfume the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he would go around to his wives, and then he would enter the morning in ihram, exuding fragrance.”
