What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • al-Bukhari

هو خطأ وإنما يرويه الأوزاعي عن عبد الرحمن بن القاسم مرسلا

machine translationThis is a mistake; al-Awzāʿī only narrates it from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Qāsim as a mursal report (mursal).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 25864
  • Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal

أعله بأنه روي عن الأوزاعي موقوفا

machine translationHe declared it defective (muʿall) on the grounds that it was narrated from al-Awzāʿī as a statement stopping at the Companion (mawqūf).

    in مسند أحمد, p. 25864
  • Yaḥyá b. Maʿīn

    قبله ولم ينكره
