حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ: مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَتَمَثَّلُ شَيْئًا مِنَ الشِّعْرِ ؟ قَالَتْ: قَدْ كَانَ يَتَمَثَّلُ مِنْ شِعْرِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ وَيَقُولُ: وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ.

✧ I said to Aishah, “Did the Prophet ﷺ ever quote any poetry?” She said, “He used to quote from the poetry of Abdullah b. Rawahah and say, ‘And the one you did not supply will bring you the news.’”
