حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ شَرِيكٍ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ لَهَا: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَرْوِي شَيْئًا مِنَ الشِّعْرِ ؟ قَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، شِعْرَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ رَوَاحَةَ، كَانَ يَرْوِي هَذَا الْبَيْتَ: وَيَأْتِيكَ بِالْأَخْبَارِ مَنْ لَمْ تُزَوِّدِ

Translation

✧ I said to her: Was the Messenger of God ﷺ reciting any poetry? She said: Yes, the poetry of 'Abd Allah b. Rawahah. He used to recite this verse: 'And he brings you news of one you have not equipped.'
