حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي عُرْوَةُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ كَانَتْ تَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

مَا مِنْ مُصِيبَةٍ يُصَابُ بِهَا الْمُسْلِمُ, إِلَّا كُفِّرَ بِهَا عَنْهُ حَتَّى الشَّوْكَةِ يُشَاكُهَا

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Ibrāhīm b. Abū al-ʿAbbās
  2. Abū Ūways
  3. al-Zuhrī
  4. ʿUrwah
  5. ʿĀʾishah Kānat
  6. Rasūl Allāh ﷺ

✧ There is no affliction that befalls a Muslim but that it expiates for him, even the prick of a thorn.
