✧ A woman came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: “May my father and mother be your ransom. My son and I bought from so-and-so the fruit of his land. We came to him asking him to reduce the price, but by Allah, we did not get anything from his fruit except something we ate ourselves, or fed to a poor person hoping for blessing. But he swore that he would not do it.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “He swore not to do good! He swore not to do good! He swore not to do good!” That reached the man, so he came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: “O Messenger of Allah, if you wish, take all the fruit, or if you wish, what they had as a reduction.” So he gave them the reduction they had asked for.
