حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا, وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عِنْدَهَا [فِي] يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ - أَوْ أَضْحَى - وَعِنْدَهَا جَارِيَتَانِ تَضْرِبَانِ بِدُفَّيْنِ، فَانْتَهَرَهُمَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: دَعْنَا يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ، إِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ عِيدًا، وَإِنَّ عِيدَنَا هَذَا الْيَوْمُ

Translation

✧ Abu Bakr entered upon her and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was with her on the day of Eid al-Fitr or Eid al-Adha, and she had two slave girls who were playing the tambourines. Abu Bakr scolded them, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Leave them, O Abu Bakr, for every nation has a celebration, and indeed, our celebration is this day."
