حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ: كَمْ كَانَ صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَتْ: كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا. قَالَتْ: أَتَدْرِي مَا النَّشُّ ؟ قُلْتُ: لَا، قَالَتْ: نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ، فَتِلْكَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ، فَهَذَا صَدَاقُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَزْوَاجِهِ

Translation

✧ I asked Aisha: 'How much was the dower of the Messenger of God ﷺ?' She said: 'His dower for his wives was twelve uqiyyah and a nashsh.' She said: 'Do you know what a nashsh is?' I said: 'No.' She said: 'Half an uqiyyah. That is five hundred dirhams. So this was the dower of the Messenger of God ﷺ for his wives.'
