✧ Aishah commanded me to write a mushaf for her. She said: When you reach this verse: 'Guard strictly the prayers, and the middle prayer,' then inform me. When I reached it, I informed her, and she dictated to me: 'Guard strictly the prayers, and the middle prayer, and the Asr prayer, and stand before Allah devoutly obedient.' She said: I heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

machine translationAll the Muslims have agreed that her words "and the ʿAṣr prayer" are not Qur'an recited today. Rather, it is an irregular (shādhdh) report which she alone transmitted, and she alone traced it back to the Prophet ﷺ. At most it can be a report (khabar), except that she raised it (marfūʿ) and attributed it with a chain (musnad).
