حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِمَا يُطِيقُونَ، فَيَقُولُونَ: إِنَّا لَسْنَا كَهَيْئَتِكَ، قَدْ غَفَرَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَكَ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ، فَيَغْضَبُ حَتَّى يُرَى ذَلِكَ فِي وَجْهِهِ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: وَاللهِ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُكُمْ بِاللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، وَأَتْقَاكُمْ لَهُ قَلْبًا.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to command them with what they were able to do, but they would say: 'We are not like you. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, has forgiven your past and future sins.' So he would become angry until it was visible on his face. He said: 'Then he would say: By Allah, I am the most knowledgeable of you about Allah, Mighty and Majestic, and the most God-fearing of you in heart.'
