حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا سِمَاكٌ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

لَا عَدْوَى، وَلَا طِيَرَةَ، وَلَا صَفَرَ، وَلَا هَامَ. فَذَكَرَ سِمَاكٌ أَنَّ الصَّفَرَ دَابَّةٌ تَكُونُ فِي بَطْنِ الْإِنْسَانِ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، تَكُونُ فِي الْإِبِلِ الْجَرِبَةُ فِي الْمِائَةِ، فَتُجْرِبُهَا، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: فَمَنْ أَعْدَى الْأَوَّلَ.

Translation

✧ There is no contagion, no evil omen, no Safar, no Hama. Simak mentioned that Safar is a creature in a person's belly. A man said: O Messenger of Allah, mangy camels are among a hundred, and they infect them. The Prophet ﷺ said: Then who infected the first one?
