حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
دَفَّتْ دَافَّةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَادِيَةِ حَضْرَةَ الْأَضْحَى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ كُلُوا وَادَّخِرُوا لِثَلَاثٍ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَانَ النَّاسُ يَنْتَفِعُونَ مِنْ أَضَاحِيِّهِمْ يَجْمِلُونَ مِنْهَا الْوَدَكَ وَيَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْهَا الْأَسْقِيَةَ قَالَ وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ قَالُوا الَّذِي نَهَيْتَ عَنْهُ مِنْ إِمْسَاكِ لُحُومِ الْأَضَاحِيِّ قَالَ إِنَّمَا نَهَيْتُ عَنْهُ لِلدَّافَّةِ الَّتِي دَفَّتْ فَكُلُوا وَتَصَدَّقُوا وَادَّخِرُوا

✧ A group of Bedouins arrived at the time of the sacrifice. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Eat and store for three days.' Later, they said: 'O Messenger of Allah, people used to benefit from their sacrificial animals, rendering their fat and making waterskins from them.' He said: 'What of it?' They said: 'You forbade keeping the meat of sacrificial animals.' He said: 'I only forbade that because of the group that had arrived. So eat, give charity, and store.'
