حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَطِيَّةَ قَالَ
دَخَلْتُ أَنَا ومَسْرُوقٌ عَلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقُلْنَا لَهَا يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَجُلَانِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ أَحَدُهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَالْآخَرُ يُؤَخِّرُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُؤَخِّرُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ فَقَالَتْ أَيُّهُمَا يُعَجِّلُ الْإِفْطَارَ وَيُعَجِّلُ الصَّلَاةَ؟ قَالَ قُلْنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَتْ كَذَاكَ كَانَ يَصْنَعُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْآخَرُ أَبُو مُوسَى
Translation

✧ Masruq and I entered upon A’ishah, and we said to her: “O Mother of the Believers, two men among the companions of Muhammad ﷺ, one of them hastens the breaking of the fast and hastens the prayer, and the other delays the breaking of the fast and delays the prayer?” She said: “Which of them hastens the breaking of the fast and hastens the prayer?” We said: “Abdullah b. Mas‘ud.” She said: “Thus did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do, and the other was Abu Musa.”
